Built to be the fastest way to check a word count
WordCountPro started from a simple frustration: switching to Word or Google Docs just to check a count, or copy-pasting into a tool that made you sign up first. This is the version we wanted to use ourselves.
Why this tool exists
WordCountPro is built and maintained by the team behind SEORocket, an SEO and content agency that writes, edits, and reviews client content every day. We built the internal version of this tool first, for our own writers, and opened it up publicly once it was solid enough to depend on.
That background shapes what's in the tool. Readability scoring, keyword density, and platform character limits aren't features we guessed at — they're the checks we actually run before content goes out the door.
Why it's free
There's no paid tier, no account wall, and no usage cap. The tool runs entirely in your browser using plain JavaScript, so there's no server cost per use for us to recover through a subscription. The site is supported by non-intrusive advertising, which is what lets it stay free and open to anyone.
How your privacy is protected
Text you type or paste into the counter is processed locally, inside your own browser. It is never transmitted to a server, logged, or stored anywhere. Closing or refreshing the tab clears it completely. You can read the full details on the Privacy Policy page.
What we're working on next
The roadmap includes a character counter, case converter, and a few other text tools built on the same private, browser-only approach. If there's a specific tool you'd want to see, the contact page is the right place to ask.
